Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This is a list of 9 Paleo ground beef recipes for you to try. Hamburger meat, as my son calls it, is a great way to go if you eat Paleo and are on a budget. It is also quick and easy to prepare.

It cooks up fast because there are no large pieces to take a long time to cook. My children also generally like it better than chicken and they don't seem to get as tired of it as chicken.

9 Paleo Ground Beef Recipes for Inexpensive Meals - My Natural Family (1)

I have some great recipes you will want to try because there aren't just obvious choices like spaghetti with meatballs, tacos, or meatloaf. I thought I'd put them together for you and make it easy to whip up at least one week's worth of meals.

Keep in mind that many of these meals can be great for meal prep to prepare partly ahead of time or to make extras and freeze for those nights when you don't have time to cook. Wait. Isn't that every night? Maybe I should have said, "for those nights when you have less time to cook than others."

When you are on the Paleo diet, you really should be trying to eat grass-fed beef when at all possible. If you are looking for a good place to buy it, I buy most of mine at Grassland Beefand I love how easy it is to buy and how affordable it is if I buy a lot and fill up my freezer.

Keep in mind that any of these recipes could be substituted with ground turkey. I love ground turkey because it has a lighter taste and is good for nutritional variety and actually tastes really good. If you are nervous about trying it, mix half ground turkey and half ground beef.

Ground beef is a staple around my house and I bet it is at your house too. You may want to bookmark this post so you can get back to it over and over again.

Is ground beef allowed in Paleo?

Definitely. It is a protein that is often eaten on Paleo. If you want to really follow Paleo then grass-fed ground beef is the best.

For one thing, most red meat in grocery stores goes through a process called MAP to inject it with carbon monoxide to make it look red instead of brown so it looks more appetizing and so they can sell it for longer.

1.Crock Pot Sloppy Joes -My Natural Family

Bacon - Onion - Pepper - Paleo BBQ Sauce- Paleo Hamburger Buns

It's impossible to find a bottle or can of sloppy joe sauce in the store that doesn't have a ton of high fructose corn syrup in it. I got really frustrated with that so I made this healthy version of one of my favorite comfort foods.

You'll love these sloppy joes because they have BACON in them. Plus I make it with my own Paleo BBQ sauce recipe and my own Paleo burger bun recipe. I think you'll be really happy you found this. They are delicious paired with my homemadePaleo Sweet Potato Fries.

2.Easy 20-Minute Healthy Keto Hamburger Bowl - My Natural Family

Red Cabbage - Cherry Tomatoes - Avocado - Real Salt *

This is my version of a hamburger in a bowl. Well, it does have a lot of the ingredients on a hamburger but since I can't eat hamburger buns this is the perfect low-carb solution.

You get all the flavors of ground beef, tomatoes, avocado, and cabbage and I can eat it with a spoon. Plus, you gotta love that it only takes 20 minutes to make and contains no dairy (or cheese)!

3.Beef & Sweet Potato Sliders - Cooked and Loved

Sweet Potatoes - Fresh Coriander - Garlic - Onion - Avocado - Tomatoes - Lettuce - Coconut Oil

This is a simple Paleo recipe for little hamburger sliders with sweet potato as the buns instead of regular buns. This is nutrient-packed and would be great on a summer evening or for a quick lunch.

I love cooking with simple ingredients and knowing what I am going to be eating!

4.Salisbury Steak - Paleo Leap

Almond Meal - Egg - Red Onions - Beef Stock - Tomato Paste - Tapioca Starch - Ghee

It took me a while to realize Salisbury steak isn't actually a recipe for "steak." It is really made from ground beef and is basically a hamburger with a sauce on it that you cook in a large skillet. Salisbury steak is also a classic and common frozen food meal.

This could be a good freezer meal you make ahead of time and just simply heat up when you are ready to eat it. If you are looking for a simple meal to have on hand you can replace some of those store-bought frozen meals in your freezer with this recipe.

These would be great with cauliflower rice or mashed potatoes on the side to help soak up all the delicious sauce.

5.Easy Chili - Real Food with Jessica

Onion - Roasted Tomatoes - Tomato Sauce - Garlic Powder - Chili Powder

Chili can be a hearty and filling meal for lunch or dinner. This is a simple dish where you cook the ground beef and then add all the other ingredients to the pan after you drain the oil and let it cook for about 30 minutes so it can develop flavors and really cook through.

They suggest putting this chili on top of zucchini noodles or sweet potatoes to add more nutrition to the meal and help it to be more balanced. I also love to add veggies to my chili, such as zucchini, carrots, celery, peppers, etc., and freeze the leftovers for a quick make-ahead meal.

6.Bacon-Wrapped Mini Meatloaves - Healthy Recipes

Garlic Powder - Onion Powder - Smoked Paprika - Thyme - Bacon

This Paleo meatloaf works well as an appetizer or part of the main dish and they bake up quickly because of their smaller size. These fun-size meatloaf bites can also be prepared with another simple veggie dish to make a complete meal.

The caramelization of the bacon makes these bacon wraps quite enjoyable to eat and you may not want to share them.

7.Beef & Cranberry Stuffed Acorn Squash - Strictly Delicious

Acorn Squash - Dried Cranberries

Here is a dish for pairing a vegetable with a ground beef mixture inside it. The acorn squash soaks up the flavor of the mixture to give it a yummy flavor. This can be a fun way to mix up having the beef with a vegetable so it is a little different than the last time you had something similar.

8.Stuffed Pepper Soup - Food Fanatic

Coconut Oil - Onion - Bell Pepper - Tomatoes - Chicken Broth - Cauliflower

Next, I have a hearty soup for you to try. It is supposed to taste like a stuffed pepper but in soup form. I love to make soups especially when it is cool, they are simple and can be packed full of good nutrients.

This also seems like less work than the traditional method of stuffing peppers.

9.Shepherd's Pie - Paleo Running Momma

Onion - Brussel Sprouts - Carrot - Mashed Potatoes - Tomato Paste

The last recipe we have for you today is a shepherd's pie. It is basically a savory ground beef mixture full of veggies topped with mashed potatoes (you could also substitute a cauliflower puree). I have seen a lot of different shepherd's pie recipes and this one definitely looks like it could be a good fit for you and me!
