A Unique Nutella Dessert: Marbled Nutella Marshmallows Recipe (2024)

A Nutella dessert recipe that you can add to hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, and more!

The winter months are made for hot chocolate (and marshmallows). So, we made some marbled Nutella marshmallows to top hot winter drinks, add to s’mores, or eat by themselves as a little treat.

If you’re a Nutella fiend, you have to try this!

Anissa whipped up a batch of these and brought ’em over. And then I used a cannoli roller (of all things) to create bite sizebits and added them to homemade hot chocolate (which I have a recipe for and will share soon).

What are the ingredients in Nutella?

Is there a lot of sugar in Nutella?

Nutella has 21 grams of sugar per serving, which is just under 90 calories.

Here’s what you need to make homemade Nutella dessert marshmallows like a champion…

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 packs unflavored gelatin
  • 3/4 + 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • candy thermometer

How to Make a Delicious Nutella Dessert Marshmallows

1. Lay out parchment paper and dust.

First lay out parchment paper over a 9×13 pan and dust extensively with powdered sugar. They will be sticky.

2. Mix gelatin and water.

Pour the three packs of gelatin into 1/2 cup of water and let it sit for about ten minutes.

3. Add ingredients to saucepan.

While you wait for the gelatin go ahead and add the rest of the water, corn syrup , salt, sugar to a medium saucepan.

Bring to a boil and allow the candy thermometer to reach 240 degrees.

4. Combine gelatin and stovetop ingredients.

Next in your mixing bowl combine the gelatin and slowly add the sugar stovetop mixture. Be careful it will be very hot.

Beat in the mixer for about 8 minutes until the bowl is warm to the touch and the mixture resembles marshmallow fluff.

Now you can add flavor to the marshmallows by adding in your vanilla.

5. Add Nutella and beat.

Next add in about 1/4 of the Nutella and beat until smooth about 1 minute.

Work quickly and pour the marshmallow mixture into the pan and use a spatula sprayed with grease to smooth it out.

6. Swirl the remaining Nutella into marshmallows.

Then using a knife swirl the rest of the Nutella into the marshmallows.

The marbling isn’t actually necessary, of course, but it makes them feel a little more special.

Let it sit for about six hours or overnight.

7. Cut and add marshmallows.

Cut as desired and dust the marshmallows with the rest of the powered sugar.

What pairs well with Nutella marshmallows?

Hot chocolate would be my number one response! And I have several homemade hot chocolate recipes that could work for this one.

My favorite is salted caramel hot chocolate.

Can you imagine the caramel and the Nutella marshmallows together? That sounds so good!

These homemade marshmallows would also be amazing in my hot cocoa cups.

They’re chocolate marshmallow candies! And taste amazing!
