'Dookie and Monster'?

In the scene where Justice (Janet Jackson) tries to get Iesha (Regina King) back into truck after her fight with Chicago, Iesha screams out "I'm gonna get Dookie and Monster to shoot you". Incase anyone doesn't know, Dookie and Monster are the names of two characters from Boyz N The Hood so this could mean that this could be a spin off or something, seeing that both are made by John Singleton and both take place in South Central.

I don't remember that line at all. And I've seen Poetic Justice a million times over.

it was after the fight scene between her and chicago when janet was getting her to go back to the mail truck. and to the other poster, iesha wasnt regina's name in boyz n da hood. her name was never mentioned in boyz n da hood, but credit-wise her name was supposidly shalika.

Can't be a spin off if Jesse the beauty shop owner is Ricky and Dough boys' mother from Boyz N the hood, her name was Brenda on there. Although they did recyle a ot of the actors from Boyz N The Hood.

I loved Jesse/Brenda's acting. I thought she would have been a break-out star.

Yes! Dookie (Lloyd) was in the wheelchair in Boyz in the Hood and talking to Tupac in the car in this film. Also the little boy that went to the store for Jessie played young Doughboy. and of course Regina King and Jessie were in Boyz in the Hood too. There were a lot of cross overs in this film. Also Cube was offered the role of Lucky.

It's not a spin off. The names were most likely just a nod to the Boyz N The Hood Movie.

Dookie wasn't in the wheelchair, Chris was. Dookie was the guy who always had the baby pacifier in his mouth.

Poetic Justice is supposed to be the 2nd part of a hood trilogy (Boyz N The Hood being the 1st and Baby Boy being the last) so more than likely it was just a nod to Boyz N The Hood.
