Craving dessert but trying to make healthier choices? This healthy peach crisp smoothie recipe tastes exactly like your favorite baked good!

As of two weeks ago, I’ve had to go dairy-free for breastfeeding. I’ll be chatting about this in an upcoming post, so keep an eye out. This means I’ve had to explore alternatives to some of my favorite dairy products, and I’ve found a lot of options from Silk!

{Disclosure – This is a sponsored post – it worked out well that I had been offered the opportunity for it since I needed some milk alternatives!}

Silk products are plant-based, dairy-free (great for those with dairy allergies or lactose intolerance), and contain no artificial ingredients.

From soy milk to almond milk to coconut milk, there are lots of varieties that you can use if you need or choose to eat dairy-free. I’ve been using almond milk for cereal and to scramble my eggs each morning, and have used coconut milk as a dairy substitute in a number of dinner recipes.

You can also make smoothies using these products! I’ve got an amazing healthy peach smoothie recipe below – but know that there are a lot of different flavors and smoothie combinations that you can make with these milk alternatives. {Of course, you can also use regular dairy milk in smoothies too if you like that or prefer that.}

To help you figure out what type of liquid base to use for your smoothies, I’ve put together this handy dandy very super scientific flowchart 😉 – perfect for helping you identify what milk alternative or milk product to use for your smoothies…

For my latest recipe creation, I picked up an almond/coconut milk blend from the supermarket, because it was a relatively new product (at least to my store) that I hadn’t been able to try yet. I wanted to make a yummy smoothie recipe using it, and was simultaneously craving dessert of some sort.

What dessert happened to come into my mind?

Peach crisp smoothie. Oh yeah.

Perhaps a little out of season right now, but it was just stuck in my mind.

I took the flavors you’ll find in that traditional peach crisp dessert – peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, and oats – and blended them together into a nutritious healthy peach smoothie recipe. It is seriously delicious, and it feels like you’re drinking dessert (but it’s healthy enough that you could have it as part of your breakfast!).

Calories 260 kcal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond/coconut milk blend
  • 1 cup sliced peaches
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon (I like cinnamon - go to 1/2 tsp if you don't like it as much!)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Blend everything together and enjoy!

Notes

Tips:

  • I used frozen peaches along with the frozen banana. The consistency was super thick – almost like a frosty! - which I kind of like. But if you want a thinner consistency, use fresh or canned peaches instead.
  • Want extra protein in this smoothie? Consider using soy milk or regular dairy milk rather than the almond/coconut blend, or adding in a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
  • The brown sugar is optional - you can cut it out if you'd like to make this healthier. However I think it gives it a more authentic "peach crisp" taste!
