Our curriculum is specifically designed for high-performing mathstudents in grades 5-12. We present a much broader and deeperexploration of challenging mathematics than a typical math curriculumand show students how to apply their knowledge and problem-solvingskills to difficult problems. We help students learn the criticalproblem-solving skills necessary for success at mathematics competitions(such as MATHCOUNTS and the AMC), top universities, and competitivecareers.

Introductory Curriculum

Our Introduction series serves as a complete curriculum for students in grades 6-10.The series covers the standard Prealgebra-Algebra-Geometry sequence, but at a more advancedlevel and with more challenging problems than a typical curriculum. The series also coversimportant discrete math topics in Counting & Probability and Number Theory that are usuallyunderrepresented in typical middle-school and high-school curricula.

Saxon Math relies on example and repetition. It is “procedural” in nature. Your student will be presented with a new concept, shown how to understand it through a series of steps, and then will practice the concept over and over. AoPS is primarily “conceptual” in its approach.
