We made the move to ensure continued future success by investing in a new paint and assembly line for our triathlon bikes at our 40,000 square foot Chattanooga facility. The new production line will eventually allow athletes to order specific color combinations and bike configurations within a three to five day turn-around window.
This investment also provides benefits to QR dealers, as we will no longer follow the industry practice of front loading dealers with heavy inventory. The paint and assembly line supports our on-going move towards the Made-to-Order requests we’re receiving daily from athletes. Athletes have told us they want more flexibility in paint schemes, and the ability to fine-tune specs to fit their needs, and they don’t want to wait weeks or months for it. We listened and then invested.
Not only are the bikes hand-painted in house, but they are all decaled, clear-coated, and then assembled in our Chattanooga, Tennessee facility as well, using globally sourced premium materials.
